Sometimes in our lives, our environments or the people we are around affects our characters, this is also apparent in stories. The setting is an emotional atmosphere that has a big impact on the character, story and reader. In Nicholas Sparks novel The Last Song, the setting really affects Ronnie's character. The setting changes her from wild and disrespectful to quiet and sympathetic.
